Flooring, Carpet, and Textile Assessments Across Global Sites

We have assessed hundreds of resilient flooring, carpets and textile products used for interior fit-outs and furnishings fit-out and construction from more than a dozen manufacturing sites across Australia, China, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, UK and USA. The GECA Floor coverings standard FCv3-2021 was used to assess resilient flooring products such as engineered timber, linoleum and rubber at manufacturing sites located from companies including Forbo, Gerflor and Spectrum Floors.

The GECA Carpets standard C-v3.0-2021was used to assess broadloom and modular carpet tiles manufactured by Shaw Contract Group at their manufacturing sites in the USA and Forbo Group’s manufacturing site in the UK.

The GECA Textiles and Leather standard TLv3.0ii-2014 was used to assess commercial fabrics made from 100% wool, polyester, nylon and blends and their manufacturing processes including weaving, dyeing and treatment.

Verifying Product Compliance and Manufacturing Practices

Each project included a desktop assessment of material specifications, test results, purchase & production records and declarations used to verify the type of material inputs and their conformance to material toxicity requirements, chain of custody, packaging, circularity requirements and fitness for purpose of the finished products. On-site assessments were conducted of manufacturing sites to triangulate evidence reviewed during the desktop assessment, visually inspect products and their manufacturing process, verify production data, workplace safety, environmental management and interview workers about their minimum entitlements, safety and working conditions.
