Assessing Building Products for Furniture, Fit-Out, and Construction

We have assessed dozens of building products integral to the manufacture of furniture, fit-out and construction of commercial and residential buildings against the GECA Panel Boards standard PBv3.0-2021 and GECA Cement, Concrete and Concrete Products standard CCCPv1.0i-2017. Products assessed include gypsum wall and ceiling panels, particleboard, MDF, compact laminates, architectural wall linings and structural flooring used in most homes, buildings and custom glass reinforced concrete panels used on the Central Station Project in Sydney at manufacturing sites located across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia from companies including from CSR, Etek (formerly BGC) Laminex Australia, Stone Alliance and Winstone Wallboards.

Verifying Materials, Compliance, and Manufacturing Conditions

Each project included a desktop assessment of material specifications, test results, purchase & production records and declarations used to verify the type of material inputs and their conformance to material toxicity requirements, chain of custody, packaging, circularity requirements and fitness for purpose of the finished products. On-site assessments were conducted of manufacturing sites to triangulate evidence reviewed during the desktop assessment, visually inspect products and their manufacturing process, verify production data, workplace safety, environmental management and interview workers about their minimum entitlements, safety and working conditions.
