For Future Generations Pty Ltd (FFG) provides auditing, inspection and conformity assessment services. We work with organisations that want to evaluate their environmental performance and verify their environmental claims.

The organisation was established in 2018 by Nick Capobianco and in March 2019, we become an Approved Assurance Provider for the Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) ecolabelling program assessing products and services to more than 30 GECA Standards.

In May 2021, the Australian Steel Institute (ASI) appointed FFG as Independent Auditors for their Environmental Sustainability Charter (ESC) program. This collaboration saw us audit more than sixty ASI members and our work continued with the launch of the Sustainable Steel Australia program in 2023.

In July 2022, we were engaged by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) to perform compliance audits of APCO members using of the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) on consumer packaging.

In February 2023, we commenced our collaboration with the International Living Future Institute to provide a third-party verification services for their Declare® Program.

We also collaborate with other certifying bodies operating globally to provide a bundled auditing service where GECA assessments are required with Chain of Custody or ISO management system certification.  

With Assessors across Australia and New Zealand, we also provide cost effective, independent and reliable internal audit services.

Nick Capobianco

Managing Director & Program Manager

Nick manages the assurance program and a team of staff and contract Assessors. He is a sustainability professional specialising in third-party certification and auditing with more than 16 years’ experience with internationally recognised sustainability certification standards and 16 years’ experience in manufacturing roles covering product design, product development and marketing.

Nick has Bachelor of Arts (Industrial Design) and post-graduate qualifications in Business, is a Senior Lead Auditor for chain of custody programs covering forestry, seafood and agriculture, an Exemplar Global certified Environmental Management Systems Auditor (Cert Number 202976), GECA and Declare 3PV Assessor and Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) Auditor.

Natalie manages our administrative functions working closely with our assessors and clients to ensure attentive service and efficient conformance assessment planning.

Natalie is an experienced manager and health professional with a certificate IV in Management, Diploma of Complimentary Therapies, Graduate Diploma of Midwifery and Bachelor of Applied Science, Nursing.

Bridget Spiteri

Client Manager - Circular Economy, Lead Assessor

Bridget is based in Melbourne and manages our assessment programs working closely with our clients to provide technical support, coordinate and conduct assessments and maintain compliance requirements of the programs. She has more than 20 years’ experience working in manufacturing and retail in various technical and analytical roles most recently specialising in responsible packaging.

Bridget holds a Bachelor of Engineering (chemical) and has completed Lead Auditor Training for ISO 14001and FSC® chain of custody and is currently a Lead Auditor for International Sustainability and Carbon Certification standards (ISCC EU and ISSC Plus), Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), Recycled Content verification with SCS Global Services and GECA multi-attribute standards, Declare 3PV Assessments, ARL compliance audits and Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) certification program.

Lead Assessor

Thiru is a GECA Lead Assessor based in Sydney. He is a Sustainability professional with more than 20 years of combined experience in the construction industry as a Sustainability Manager, Structural Engineer, Design Manager and Project Manager working with major international Construction firms.

Thiru holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certificate and is an ISCA Accredited Professional, FSC® chain of custody Lead Auditor, Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) Auditor and GECA Assessor.

Soni Maria Jacob Peter

Lead Assessor

Soni is a GECA Lead Assessor based in Brisbane. She is a Quality Management professional with more than ten years’ experience as a Quality Control and Laboratory Manager in major food processing plants in India, Sri Lanka and the Solomon Islands.

Soni holds a PhD from the University of Queensland, a Master of Science in Industrial Fisheries and Bachelor of Science in Botany and Lead Auditor certificates for ISO14001, ISO9001 and ISO2200. In addition to academic and Industry research, she works as a Lead Auditor for ASC Farm and MSC chain of custody standards as well as GECA Standards.

Canna is a GECA Assessor based in Beijing China. She is the General Manager of East Inflink Science and Technology Co Ltd and an Auditing professional with more than 10 years’ experience in wood processing and furniture industries.

Canna holds an MBA, Bachelor of Science (Wood Science and Technology), and Lead Auditor certificates for ISO 9001, FSC® Forest Management and chain of custody.

Melissa McConnell

Assessor

Melissa conducts third-party audits and assessments and is based in Melbourne. She is a Work Health, Safety, Risk and Compliance professional with more than 16 years’ experience with quality, safety and information security management systems and WHS legislative compliance.

Melissa is a Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds several positions as executive and non-executive director. She holds a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Exemplar Global certificates as a Quality and OHS Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor and is also a qualified Lead Auditor for several sustainability standards with practical experience with wood and paper products, food processing, sugar cane industry, pharmaceutical, waste recovery and mining industries.

Scott Priestley

Scott is a contract Assessor based near Wellington New Zealand. He has over 30 years’ experience in natural resource management, regulatory compliance and environmental auditing across government organisations in Australia, France and New Zealand. His roles have included positions with the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), the Department of Environment & Climate Change NSW, Interpol (Lyon France), and Ministry for the Environment NZ.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Conservation and Associate Diploma in Applied Science (Natural Resource Management). He has completed Exemplar Global accredited training for ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems. With expertise is in Regulatory Auditing, environmental compliance and investigations, Scott specialises in forest certification, sustainable resource management and environmental regulations and conducts audits for FSC® forest management and chain of custody standards with SCS Global Services and Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) audits.

Kimberly conducts third party audits and assessments and is based in Rotorua New Zealand. She has more than 20 years’ experience involving climate change research, carbon accounting for primary production systems, LCA and EPD verification and almost 10 years' auditing experience with SCS Global Services with FSC Forest Management, Controlled Wood and Chain of Custody standards, Responsible Wood and PEFC chain of custody standards.

Kimberly holds a a Masters in Forestry Science and Bachelor of Science and is a Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional, EPD Verifier and Forestry Auditor. She, has completed Exemplar Global accredited training for ISO 14001:2015, ASI accredited training for FSC® FM and CoC, PEFC endorsed training for PEFC CoC and is undergoing training for Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials and SCS Recycled Content standard.

Madelaine (Maddy) John

Assessor

Maddy conducts third-party assessments and is an independent sustainability consulting currently working remotely from the west coast of Canada. She has experience in data analysis and ESG reporting and working with legislative requirements including APCO, RedCycle, NZ Soft Plastic Scheme, UNMDG and B-Cycle with retail and distribution companies.

Maddy holds a Bachelor of Science & Bachelor of Global Studies and participated in United Nations Systems Staff College - Circular Economy Leadership program. She has completed FSC® chain of custody Lead Auditor training and is working with our ARL compliance audits.
